About Me

I'm a Software Developer from Germany. If I'm not working on some games in Unity, you can find me at my piano. My video games rabbit hole started on the SNES with "Super Mario World" and is deepening by the minute.Starting with ROM hacks for Pokémon games, I chose a path as a Game Developer for my future. While getting experience with Lunar Magic and Super Mario World or Advance Map and Pokémon Emerald, the focus shifted to more traditional tools like Unity, Blender, and Wwise.I completed my technical education as a computer scientist with an emphasis on systems integration. The direction changed and I studied Game Engineering and graduated with a Bachelor of Science. After graduating in 2022 the interest is still running hot even while working as C# Software Developer.

Tools

My favorite tools I use in my projects:

Worktime Calculator

I bet you've been there too – struggling to figure out when to leave work. I've been through it, so I wrote a little program to make it easier. Now, I just plug in the details, and it tells me the perfect time to head home. Life's simpler with a bit of tech help, right?

Pong

As an exercise to learn Unity a wee bit better, I rebuilt the classic game of all games. Pong is a classic arcade video game that was one of the first games which, was sold for home purposes. It was created by Atari and released in 1972. Besides Unity, the only tool I used was Git(hub).

Gameplay

You can decide between two modes:
- Classic: This plays like the original game. Two pedals, one ball and a lot of fun.
- Modern: Gameplay-wise it is the same as the original game. But random powerups are spawning inside the play field.

Galaxy Rush

A endless 2D arcade game where you pilot a spaceship and evade alien destruction. Fight back and gather as many points as you can. I wrote the game in Unity, and used Github as version control and Wwise for the music.

Gameplay

Use the arrow keys to move the ship and shoot bullets with the space bar.

Operation L.o.M. - Liquid on Mars

Randall Munroe, comic artist of the popular XKCD comics and author of books like "What If", described a specific scenario:What if all water from planet Earth was sent to Mars?It is the year 20XX and precisely this happened. Randall himself stole all the water and stored it on Mars. Furious about this situation is protagonist Sora. He is an ex-space marine and can't shower anymore. It's his mission to get all the water back and enjoy a hot shower.

Gameplay

Orientated on games like Thief or Dishonored the goal of the game is to steal the water bottles and get them back to earth. You can choose to sneak and hopefully not get detected by the security bots. Or you choose violence and get to fight head-on with them. Either way has its strengths and weaknesses.

Nekomancer: Die inside the CATacombs

The protagonist Lucky falls inside a dice bag and fights for her life to get out of it, proving herself to be no ordinary black cat after her witch abandoned her because she thought she only brought bad luck.

Gameplay

The room setup is orientated on a die with 6 sides. With every room the stats of the protagonist and the enemies are randomly increased - the harder the level, the higher the chance to roll higher and higher stat increases. The room you land in is randomly decided every time you enter a new one. The stage ends with the final room, number 6 and an enormous boss!

Piano Journey

Piano Journey is my Bachelor of science thesis and is all about helping the player get the hang of the piano. It is possible to load MIDI song files into the game and play it while playing the real instrument. The notes are displayed as blocks, which are hovering over the buttons. The player has to press the right buttons on the instrument at the right time.

More infos

- Twitch Support: You can connect to your stream and get a song request from your chat.

- Editor Mode: You can compose your own songs and save them as MIDI files. Even edit them as you wish.

- Design it your way: You can change the color of the notes or your keys, so no more dispute about which theme is better!
